Add new Camera

Please select the edge AI unit (AEC) on the left side, then click on the "scan" icon to find the ONVIF device on the same network as the AEC. Once the scan completed, it will list the IP address and the status. "test" icon will show on the right if the device is not yet added to the system.

Click on the "test" icon to enter the ONVIF account and password information.

Edge AI unit will start to communicate with the ONVIF device and obtain required information for the next step.

Select the stream used for AI and cloud recording. Please set the codec for the stream to H.264. The stream can be up to 1080p resolution, 10FPS and 4096 bit rate and will be used for both AI and recording.

Note: For AEC running 3.5.2 or lower version needs to select the stream used for AI and recording separately. It can be the same stream ID from camera and it will use two stream traffic.

Please select appropriate cloud connection, cloud recording and AI function licenses. User can only select one license per type. For extending the license, please use the configuration feature under camera menu.

Enter the name of the device to complete the process.

WARNING: sync preset configuration will delete all the preset settings on this camera on AtomCloud.

    • MOTOR SPEED: Control the movement speed of the PTZ camera, there are 5 settings from the slowest to the fastest, Click the button to save the default speed setting.

Edge AI - Event Config

The edge AI menu will look be different based on the AEC model. For example: AEC121 has cloud recording and smart motion AI features. AEC122 has cloud recording, smart motion and face AI features. AEC123 has cloud recording, smart motion and object AI features.

  • EVENT CLOUD RECORDING: Send the video stream to cloud for recording when an event is detected.
    • Smart motion must be enabled to enable event cloud recording.
    • Event cloud recording will record up to 45 seconds “BEFORE” the temperature measuring result and 45 seconds “AFTER” the temperature measuring event stopped. The recording will not stop until there is no temperature measuring activity.
  • CONSTANT CLOUD RECORDING: Always send video stream to cloud for recording.
  • VAULT: Long-term vault storage for cloud video recording. The recorded cloud videos will send to long-term storage for years. User can request download the footage. Depends on the license type, archive vault will be ready within 12 hours and instant vault will be ready immediately.
  • SMART MOTION: Turn on detect motion and record its event. This is required for event recording function.
  • MOTION REGION OF INTEREST (Motion ROI): When not specified, the AI will run the whole video area. To specify only certain areas to perform AI, please mark the desired ROI polygons. The area outside of the ROI will not be detected by smart motion AI.
  • Note: the snapshot used in ROI is different than the snapshot image of the camera, please refresh and save the ROI snapshot separately.

  • SENSITIVITY LEVEL: The level of sensitivity when the motion is detected. This is used to fine tune to avoid small movement triggering events (i.e. leaf moves by wind, shadow moves in the day or tiny camera vibration.)

  • FACE DETECTION: Turn on the AI to detect human face. This is required for face search and photo search AI.
  • FACE REGION OF INTEREST (Face ROI): When not specified, the AI will run the whole video area. To specify only certain areas to perform AI, please mark the desired ROI polygons. The area outside of the ROI will not be detected by Face AI.
  • Note: the snapshot used in ROI is different than the snapshot image of the camera, please refresh and save the ROI snapshot separately.

  • MIM. FACE DETECT CONFIDENCE: Select the level of confidence on the face detection.
  • MINIMAL FACE SIZE: The minimum face detection box is defined as a square with dimensions specified in pixels.
  • TRACKING BLIND: The time duration during which the results of face detection are not recorded is measured in seconds.
  • FRONTAL FACE: Only frontal faces are detected.

  • FACE SEARCH: Turn on the face search AI to search the uploaded face AI user and match with the detected face, Click icon open the Face AI user Hierarchy interface.

Click to add face search AI user group to local AEC, For information regarding Face AI user settings, please refer to Face AI user.

Note: In order to optimize the cloud response speed, user experiences and performance, please assign the most used face AI user node to the device with the “assign user” icon, you can assign maximum of 1024 face photos to edge device.

  • FACE SEARCH MATCH CONFIDENCE: Select the level of confidence for face search result.

  • FACE AI ACCESS CONTROL MODE (Require AEC running 3.6.0+ firmware):
When AEC is enabled with Face AI Access Control Mode, it will only detect a single biggest face that meet the minimum area size requirements and fake check. The frontal face is required. It also enable the Face Detected Action feature which triggered directly from the edge system to reduce the action delay time.
The configuration menu will change to below:
  • FACE ACCESS MINIMAL AREA: The minimum face detection box is defined as a square with dimensions specified in pixels.
    • MIM. FACE DETECT CONFIDENCE: Select the level of confidence on the face detection.
    • FAKE CHECK: Turn on the check for lifeless face (fake face).
    • FACE MATCHED ACTION: Use the action group defined in the  “System settings -> Notification -> IOT Action Groups” to trigger action when face search has a match.

  • PHOTO SEARCH: Extract and archive all face detected for future search with photos.

Licenses

License is required to provide cloud connections or different AI options. Video and audio related license applied on the cameras. Cloud Connection license is required for all units.

If there is multiple of same license type, it will be put together and can be expanded with icon. The start and end date indicates each subkey's validation date.

The red color indicates the expired licenses.

Click on icon to enable edit mode, to add new or expand existing license.

ADD: is used for new added license when there is no same type of license on the device.

EDIT: after click, use icon to extend this type of license, or icon to delete the license.
